Happy Almost-New Year

Here we are...Bruce and I are checking in with you all tonight from a hotel room in Brentwood, Tennessee...just down the road a tad in Nashville. We flew in and arrived around 6:30ish, got our rental car, and perused the downtown area of Nashville. It looks like a fun area. We tried to find a hotel down there, but the couple we tried were full, etc. We drove for a bit outside, and ended up here. Initially, we were a little disappointed to not stay in the downtown area in order to partake of the "festivities" however upon further thought we decided that we could always go back to the downtown area sometime this weekend, when there should still be things going on and people out and about without the craziness of New Year's Eve. So we just finished dinner at a restaurant called "Longbranch"...it was good. We had excellent steaks. We both had filets and they were soooo tender. We are staying at a Hampton Inn, usually our favorite place, but Bruce is complaining about his mattress. I found a coupon for a room here, so he is complaining this is the "coupon room."

We don't know what we are going to do tomorrow, but I have a feeling our choices are somewhat limited by the fact that it is actually a holiday, January 1. There might a few things open in the afternoon, and if nothing else we can explore driving around, and case the area out.
