I hope this finds all readers happy, healthy, and enjoying the "afterglow" of the holiday festivities. We've had a nice 'run' of activities, and this is the time when I start to miss all of the festivities, the colors, sounds, and smells of Christmas. It really is a beautiful time of the year. If there were only some way to always have a little bit of the wonder, excitement, anticipation all through the year, but that's why the Christmas time of the year is so magical, I suppose.
We went to my sister Amy and her husband Tim's house on Christmas Day. It was a nice drive down there, and we had a nice day. They really didn't have any snow to speak of, so it was a nice break away from the snow and ice. They have this great dog, a black lab, named Max, who si just a little over a year old. He is a great dog. Very, very well behaved, tall and slender. He was wonderful with Allison, and she loved playing with him.
Upon return home, we also returned to the snow and ice. However, what a surprise to wake up Friday morning to a wet back deck on the house. The temperatures were in the 50s and 60s on Friday, and the snow and ice all pretty much melted away and left mud in it's wake. It was pretty windy, and still is, so hopefully the mud won't stick around too long. Weather Bug says the temperature currently is back down to 26.
We haven't decided what we are going to do today. We have the option of another get together today, and it depends on how much attention the radio station needs today.
