Brrrrrr-again

It was cold this morning. Wow oh wow! I think it was -7 when I got up, and it was like -3 at 10:00 a.m. I don't know what the wind chill was. It did actually warm up as the day went on, and right now at just before 10:00 p.m., WeatherBug says it is 17 degrees. Not too shabby I guess.

Today is the 22nd of December, the first day of Winter, and the "shortest day of the year." I told A that it was the first day of winter but it didn't seem to phase her. The whole season thing is very difficult yet for her to comprehend. She is always asking me if it is winter or summer, etc., especially if it is sunny outside (yet cold)...."is it summer today." I can see where that is a very abstract concept to grasp until you've lived for a little more than she has been on this earth.

We went to the library this morning and got some more books; came home, did dishes, etc. We all took naps this afternoon; I really slept there for like an hour....a really deep sleep. It was so nice. I've gotten into this terrible nasty habit of lying down for an hour in the afternoon. If I don't, then I am really, really sleepy. I think I've been changing my body biorhthyms to expect a nap! Oh dear!

A and I are going with Bruce tomorrow and heading out to Norton and coming back through Cawker City and Glen Elder, I guess. It will probably be later when we get home. It is supposed to snow some more beginning tomorrow evening, so hopefully we will beat it home.
