Well, my husband scored major "honey points" last night. We've been married for just over 7 years, and this is the first time that he has surprised me with something special.
We went out on a date. He has actually been "planning" this date for quite awhile. A little background information before I say what we did. When we got married, we had this awesome rhythm and blues/jazz/horn band place for our wedding dance. They are called "Tunafish Jones", and are out of Lincoln, Nebraska. They were very good, and Bruce has been "following" them on their website, etc., since then, trying to see where they play, etc. They very, very seldom play anything other than private dates; it is very rare to be able to see them in a public forum. We were able to see them several years ago at South Pointe in Lincoln during a summer concert series, but it has been a long time.
So, A went to grandma and grandpa's house, and Bruce took me to Lincoln. We ended up at a bar and grill that we had not been to before, and it looked like one of those roadhouses you see in the movies, but clean, no smoking (bonus). We sit down, and he hands me one of the tickets and says that we are here to see Tunafish Jones. They were a lot of fun, and it was a great atmosphere, and the crowd seemed to have a lot of fun. It was an eclectic crowd, but mostly our age or older, that's for sure. It's interesting to see a white-haired little old man doing the hustle!!!! LOL
The band played until about midnight, and it was a lot of fun. We had a good time.
The band's website is www.tunafishjones.com, and I also just found a couple of videos on YouTube that you might want to check out.
Thanks, honey! XOXOXO
