Family Field Trip to Lincoln, Nebraska. Bruce had seen this event advertised somewhere and thought maybe it would be a good family activity that Allison would enjoy. It was at the Nebraska Natural History Museum on the campus of the University of Lincoln. I had never been there before, but Bruce said he had been there before for school field trips when he lived in Fairbury as a kid. It was a good museum (although I secretly thought it looked quite dated -- you know, exhibits that have not really been updated since they were first created in the 60s :), but it was still nice, good exhibits, and the extra stuff that they had today were exceptionally fun. We liked the llamas and alpacas in the front.
Of course drawing and creating is a big part in our family anyway, so we were drawn to the table showing animals that adapt to their environment so she colored a cutout butterfly to resemble one of the backgrounds they had at the table there.
