Bruce and I went out on a date last night. :0 We actually hired a babysitter, and then went to the Wagon Wheel for dinner, and then to the theater to see a movie. I had been wanting to see the movie, Australia. Bruce doesn't like to sit through previews so we didn't even leave the restaurant until like 6:57 (and the movie starts at 7:00). Personally, I don't like cutting it quite that close, but what's a wife to do? Anyway, we get to the theater, and there is a line of people all the way around the side of the building! WHOOPS!! We park the car, and find our place in line. It was 10 minutes after 7:00 before we get in. Then the movie is back in Theater 3. For those who do not know the theaters, that is the back tiny cramped theater. The only seats left were in the front two rows, and the movie had obviously already started.
It is set in Australia during the 1940ish timeframe, right before and then around the bombing of Pearl Harbor, and then how the Japanese bombed Australia, too. It was 2 hours 35 minutes long. The first half was westernish style with a cattle drive, the second half focused more on the war. Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman are in it. He is sooooo good looking. Nicole's character was kinda cool. She was very funny in parts, too. It had a lot of the movie including aboriginie (sp?) culture. I don't know alot about that, and some of it was hard for me to understand, but it was also sort of interesting.
