Well, sorta. I e-mailed my mom Thursday morning and asked her if she wanted to see her adorable, wonderful granddaughter this weekend. Allison is a wonderful girl; I love her to pieces. I am so very, very fortunate to have such a bright, sweet, smart daughter. She is very, very active, however, and she had a HUGE attitude this week. She was developing a need to 'scream' whenever she didn't get her way, and was really, really mouthy. I thought she was acting more like a 3rd grader than a 3-year old. So, I asked my mom to keep her this weekend to kinda give me a break. Allison's daddy is wonderful about taking Allison with him when he does something, etc., but as soon as we are all three back in the same house, Allison is attached to me, and only I can help her with the smallest things it seems. We met Friday after my mom got off of work for the 'drop off' and I will drive down early this afternoon to pick her up.
I do miss her, of course, but I got so much house cleaning finished yesterday. I hate to admit this but the house was a pit...the worst I remember it being. There seemed to be TOYS EVERYWHERE! I can be very anal about where things go back, too. All of the Little People should be together with people and animals in one drawer and "accessories" in another drawer; the Mickey Mouse figurines should not be intermingled with the Little People; the play kitchen dishes should be in a certain place, etc. You get the picture. It took me like 5 hours to put all of the toys away ... on all three floors, however. I love having a large house, but it's just more room for toys to be strewn....and they were! I would not have been able to get as much finished had she been home. She tries to "help" and she means well, but I'm not very good at the patience thing when I have a mission.
I didn't really get any time to paper craft or card make yesterday. I did a little bit Friday evening late. I have developed this habit of staying up until like 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning. It's when I have time to create and spend "ME" time. Then I'm tired the next day though.
I finished an altered gift paint can for Allison's preschool teacher - a type of "apple for the teacher" for the first day of school. I'm going to put some school supplies and chocolate in it. I put the outside paper on the lunchboxes for the school auction - the greeting cards box and the school memories box. I'm not sure i'm too pleased with the school memories box but it's okay. I am still working on the inside cards but I am pleased with how those are going. I am using the Cricut cartridge LockerTalk and there are a lot of great items on there.
I will post pictures when I get some taken.
I doubt I will have much time to be creative today, unfortunately. I am going to have to leave here a little before 1:00 to head to pick up Allison from her grandparents' house, as they have something going on tonight. We will come back through Manhattan, and head to the County Fair Parade at Blue Rapids. It starts at 6:00. It is supposed to be brutally HOT today...like 95 degrees. The church is serving homemade ice cream at the fair so that is something to look forward to.
