My Little Fish

I took Allison to the city swimming pool this evening around 5:00 or so. If we go that late, unfortunately, usually there are not a lot of other kids at the pool. I don't know how to swim myself, so getting into the pool myself is not something that I enjoy all that much. I do do it sometimes, but I just didn't feel like messing with it tonight, so I made her just stay in the kiddie pool. That is not her favorite thing to do. She would prefer to go into the "big" pool, but when faced with either the kiddie pool or no pool, guess what she chose. Well, anyway, there weren't any other kids there when we first got there. After we had been there about an hour or so, some friends of ours came. They have three kids, two older boys, and then a little girl who is a year younger than Allison. Both mom and dad were there, and tonight after a little bit, the dad offered to take Allison with him and the little girl to the big pool. Well, needless to say, Allison was thrilled. Before I knew it, they were putting one of their floatation vests on Allison and she was heading to the huge curvey water slipper slide. She had never gone down the slide before. Needless to say, when you come off of the end you will usualy go under the water. Well, the dad was in the pool at the bottom and caught her. ALlison has the BEST time. She kept running back to do it again. She did it like 5-7 times. I lost track. I wasn't sure how I was going to get her away from there. She was so happy. She wasn't thrilled with me for making her go home after being at the pool for almost 3 hours!
