I'm in a creative slump. I really haven't even been in my scrapbooking room for like a week. I haven't had a lot of time to be, but I just don't know what to work on if I do go in there. I finally went in last night for about an hour or so after I put Allison to bed, and I kinda piddled. I started on the CD Calendars for 2009, and I'm still working on January---I did ONE! That's it! I just can't seem to get the creative juices flowing right now. I guess they wax and wane, and will come back soon. Maybe I'll have some time tonight after I get home from Homework Center and Allison is still visiting her "Maryaville Grandma".
Allison has been a 'mama's girl" lately. There was a lot of time last week that I wasn't as available to her as she would have liked I guess.
We had our first day back to Sunday School last Sunday. For the first time ever, Allison was hesitant to go to Sunday School...she was clingy, wouldn't let go of me, when she did and I tried to go to my class, she would run back and cling to me some more. The only thing I can really pinpoint other than being in her "mama's girl" frame of mind was that there was a new little girl there whose foster parents just kinda dropped her off and left...she was SCREAMING and crying and did not want to stay. I certainly do not blame her, but it made for a very tense situation for EVERYONE around. After that got more in control, Allison went to Sunday School just fine. I have 11 kids in my class (3rd & 4th grade) - 6 talkative girls and 5 smartypants boys...I LOVE 'EM all!!! Seriously, they are ALL great kids!!! Neat, Neat, Neat! It will be a chatty class, but it's gonna be a really good class this year! We had a potluck dinner after church, and a short presentation of the Sunday School program. We had an excellent turnout....over 100 I would anticipate. Our Board of Ed for the church "hosted" the potluck...it was our first time, and mine specifically, too. It's a lot of work! LOL I'm sure it will be easier for us if we do it again because we knwo more what to expect , etc.
Allison's "Alma grandma and grandpa" came up for Grandparents' Day at church. That was really nice, and we appreciate them coming up.
Homework Center is in it's second week at the library. We are having some new kids this year, which is a good thing, but there's always a "behavior" learning curve, but we'll work through it. We need new kids to keep it going, too. I had 10 kids yesterday. For one person, in the size of room we have, with kids on all different age/grade levels, schools, etc., it can be a challenge to make sure everyone is as on task as possible, and remember where they all are (bathroom, drink, reading, getting a book, etc.). I've had the wool pulled over my eyes before and I don't like it...LOL
