To begin, I thought I would post at least one photo from the family reunion on Saturday. I like this one. Allison is in the middle in the purple outfit, halfway on the ground. What she is doing is pulling on a type of sling-shot type deal, and in the sling is a water balloon. This was one of the children's games that they had planned. There weren't that many young kids left at this point of the day, so Allison got lots and lots of turns. The balloons shot out into a wide open yard in which there were hula hoops, and they tried to hit the 'eye of the hoop'...all of these kids were young though so it was mainly just 'firin' away'!
(Added note: I forgot to note that the recipe box that I worked on for the auction for this family reunion did not go as well as I would have hoped....sigh....It sold for (whispering...)...$8.00!! ARGH! I should've bought it back probably. Kinda sad. Hope the boxes go better at the school auction September 21.)
Allison went home with her grandma Joyce (my mom) for the holiday weekend. Allison doesn't get to see this grandma all that often, so it is a good opportunity for both of them. While Allison has been gone this weekend, I have been trying to catch up on a little bit of her scrapbooking. Above is a picture of an album I started for her. It will be devoted solely to this first year of three-year old preschool. It is a Creative Memories album, measuring 7x7, which is not a size I work with very often. It was on sale, and it was so cute with the ABC cover that I thought it would be cute for a school-themed album.

Page 4 - These pictures were taken the Sunday before school started when they had a potluck luncheon, and then the teacher had a Scavenger Hunt of the school for all of the incoming preschoolers and kindergarten students.

Page 5 - From the Scavenger Hunt - these are some of her friends; some of them are in the afternoon class.

Here are some 12x12 layouts for Allison's albums. These next few pages are obviously from 4th of July ... but they are from 2008!!! :)

I had seen something like this done in a magazine or something...took pictures of the fireworks' remnants and made a layout.

...and tried my hand at nighttime photos....they aren't great...I really don't know how to do it. I spent most of my time that evening adjusting the dials and settings on the camera instead of actually watching the fireworks, but scrapped the pages anyway.

The last layouts are of this year's Vacation Bible School. This was Allison's first year of being old enough to attend the VBS. The theme was Friendship Trek, and it was kind of an outdoorsy, hiking theme with five different wild animals as the mascots throughout the week.
