Easter Party at Preschool
I was room parent for Allison's Easter party at school today. It was cute. For only being 7 kids in Allison's preschool class, however, it always feels like there are like 20! :) They are certainly a full-energy group of kids! Because I was "doing" the party, I didn't get as many pictures as I would've liked, but at least I got a few. When I tried to take a group picture of the kids following their Easter egg hunt, my daughter decided she did not like how it was being done. There was just enough room on the bench for all of the kids to sit and for them to hold their buckets. She wanted to put her bucket beside her. There wasn't enough room. So, she got off the bench and walked off! Because the rest of the kids were so antsy, I wasn't going to hold them there while I tried to coerce her back to the bench, so I have a picture of my daughter's class minus MY DAUGHTER! (sigh)
After the party, they went back to their classroom to look at their 'goodies."
We played "fun" games, no real competition or winners or losers yet. We played several games with plastic Easter eggs: carry the egg on the large plastic spoon, walk with half an egg on your head without it dropping (although it became quite fun to see if they could bounce it off the most), egg toss with a partner (which actually went pretty well), and roll the giant Easter egg. By the time we did all of this, and had snack and a little simple craft, it was time to go. We filled the time up well.
I made these cute little bunnies for each of the kids in Allison's class to take home with them. My aunt Marilyn showed me how to make them when we were at her house for Easter dinner on Sunday. She is a teacher. They are made out of washclothes, and folded and rubber banded and the extra accessories added. They are cute.
