This Crazy Life!

This past weekend was suposed to be fun for all of us: Allison was supposed to spend Saturday and Sunday with my mom, and Bruce and I were supposed to go to Lawrence for a much awaited, much needed weekend away. Well, Allison go to go to my mom's house...and did she have fun! Here are pictures of when she took her to a pumpkin farm down near where my sister lives (Allison's Aunt Amy). It looks like so much fun. I would like to go next year. I've never been to a real, well down Pumpkin Farm....just a regular pumpkin patch where you pick out your pumpkin and that's it.

So far as Bruce and I....well, unfortunately, I came down not feeling well...I had horrible headaches pretty much all last week, pretty much in the evenings, but got really bad overnight Thursday night into Friday morning. Bruce called and made me a doctor's appointment, and come to find out my blood pressure had skyrocketed! It was very very high, dangerously high, so I was put on weekend "bumdom" by the doctor in order to try to remain calm and quiet and work to getting the BP down (along with a couple of medications). I continued to have a horrible headache Saturday, but was able to get a different medication mix, and by Saturday evening it was much better (thank goodness!). By Sunday I was feeling much better, and Monday I was able to do much of the normal running around that I usually do. I did send Bruce on his way by himself on Saturday to Lawrence to the football game (it was a horrible game...KU got beat like 60 something to 20 something...ugh), but then he went into Kansas City and met up with his brother for dinner, which he enjoyed seeing him. Then Sunday he was able to visit with a radio friend in KC and see some of the studios, etc.

I just feel bad because Bruce needs some time away from the grind and wear and tear of the radio station, and we had been planning this , and he had been so looking forward to this weekend. (sigh)

He left this morning at 5:51 to head out to Kearney, Nebraska (about 3 hours from here) for a meeting in order to pitch a proposal for continued radio advertising with a customer. He was going to come back through one of his other stations in Norton Kansas, and thought he'd be out there and ready to turn around and come home by noon, so it's a very quick trip....it's not like it's a long meeting or anything in Kearney to drive all those hours and miles.

Allison has school today as well as dance; we switched days with Marysville grandma since bruce is going to be gone for when i go to the library so allison will go there this afternoon. Allison has a big day today.
