August Check In

It's the 6th day of August, and I haven't had a chance to post anything new to the blog. I got a stinkin' cold, and I have felt pretty much crappy this week...starting about Tuesday evening getting the sniffles and just feeling pretty crappy Wednesday afternoon and yesterday afternoon. It was like I could get through the mornings fairly well, usually tutoring or taking Allison someplace, and then I was just exhausted and DEAD in the afternoon. I think I am returning to life today. I'm still tired now, but at least beginning to be somewhat functional. Allison had a dentist's appointment with Dr. Barth, a pediatric dentist in Manhattan today. He is fantastic. When a four-year old leaves the dentist office, and says, "Can we go back there soon, mommy?" you know they do a good job! I'm so thankful! Neither Bruce nor I have had great experiences with dentists.

So, Allison and I just got back home from Manhattan. We made a couple of stops, Target and Hobby Lobby and the obligatory lunch at McDonald's for the Beanie Baby in a Happy Meal. It has gotten TERRIBLY HOT!!! It's well over 100 degrees here again after being just beautifully cool the past few weeks. I guess we should be happy that we've been so fortunate. I probably ought to try to make some trips to the swimming pool this weekend when it's so hot. I need to also start shoveling out and cleaning the house; with Vacation Bible School last week and not feeling well this week, the house looks pretty bad.
