Family Vacation to Colorado Begins

Well, here we are...family vacation to Colorado...Bruce, Allison and myself. We started out yesterday, May 19, and headed out from Washington after Allison's fun day. We traveled Hwy 36 through Kansas into Colorado. We had lunch at Buffalo Roam restaurant in Mankato, Kansas. We had a leg stretch in Atwood, Kansas, at a really nice city park where allison could play on the play equipment. It was hot, windy, and dusty, about 93 degrees. We then drove into Colorado, continuing on Hwy 36 on to Denver where we met up with I-70; we had run into rain and the temps dropped about 20 degrees. We went on through and stayed at a Denver suburb called Wheat Ridge, Colorado. We began our day, heading on out on I-70 again, west, to go through the mountains.

We went to a scenic lookout point, a nature center, and Boetcher Mansion, on to
